I shouldn’t have left you without a recent blog post to step to…but here’s why!
I’ve started a tumblr! You can find me at justinpoet.tumblr.com I like tumblr because it allows me to keep tabs on some of my favorite poets and performers. It’s also quickly become my homebase for getting nascent ideas out into the world. So far, I’ve used my tumblr to post haiku, rough drafts and short poems. Justinpoet.com will still be here to display polished material, but if you’re looking for more frequent posts, now you know where to go.
Oh, and make sure you check out my friends’ tumblrs:
Poet Donney Rose http://donneyrose.tumblr.com/
Comedian CJ Hunt http://gocjhunt.tumblr.com/
Poet Leslie D! http://insomniafiles.tumblr.com/
Poet Jon Brown http://jonathanbrownpoetry.tumblr.com/
Poet Desiree Dallagiacomo http://poemsbydes.tumblr.com/
Poet “Xero” Skidmore http://xeroskidmore.tumblr.com/
My friend Robert Warren popped into the Pop Up Volume 2 and brought his camera. Check out these great shots he snapped, and be sure to head to his photo blog (aphorist.tumblr.com) for beautiful photos taken all around New Orleans.
Last but not least, here’s a photo of A Scribe Called Quess’s great performance courtesy of my phone. Thank you all for a wonderful night.

Handing out mix CDs for the first 20 people at the show tonight. Enjoy!
“The odds of picking the winning numbers in Wednesday’s drawing were longer than the odds of picking an American man completely at random and having him happen to be Alan Alda.”
This supposedly illuminating statistic provides more questions than answers:
Wouldn’t the odds of seeing Alan Alada be the same as seeing any individual? Or is he out and about at a different frequency?
What types of places does he frequent? If Alan Alda buys a lot of tacos, will I have a better chance at winning the lottery because I love tacos?
Is our ability to locate him impacted by whether or not he is wearing his Waldo glasses?
Where can I find other Alan Alda stats?
Here’s a video of my piece, “Tips for Climbing Barbed Wire,” shot and edited by Steve Burke.
Two of the nicest guys I’ve had the pleasure of performing alongside collaborate at The Pop Up we held at the Keller Community Center.

We go to museums to learn, but this display left me with more questions than answers, specifically:
Is the chicken aware of the giant double sided mirror?
How does the timing of this operation work?
Can chickens read? If they can’t, why is he holding a paper? If they can, why are there no words?
